National strike was called by the stevedoring sector for the month of March.
After several weeks of negotiation between employers, unions and Administration, the Council of Ministers approved last Friday February 24 the Royal Decree Law on the reform of the stevedoring sector. Pending approval by the Congress of Deputies at the end of March, the stevedoring sector, together with the trade unions Coordinadora del Mar, UGT, CCOO, the Confederación Intersindical Galega and CGT, have called a strike in Spanish ports for the month of March.
The strike, convened at the state level, will start on March 6 and end on 25, with 9 days of partial work stoppages in alternate hours. In detail, the affected days will be 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22 and 24 March 2017 from 8:00 am until 8:00 am the following day, at odd hours (from 9 to 10, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, 15 to 16, 17 to 18, 19 to 20, 21 to 22, 23 to 24, 1 to 2, 3 to 4, 5 to 6 and 7 to 8 hours).
The drop in performance that will produce this situation will directly influence the operations of each port, entry of trucks, maintenance of lines, etc.
