Having a logistics operator with a LAME for your exports offers many advantages that will save you time and costs.
What is a LAME bonded warehouse?
LAME stands for Business Authorised to Export Goods and is used to define a bonded warehouse where goods are stored before being exported and from where customs clearance is processed without the need to move the goods to customs offices.
Unlike other types of bonded warehouses, the LAME is mainly used for the consolidation of goods in the warehouse itself prior to clearance. This allows cargoes from different origins to be grouped together and cleared through customs before being sent to their destination.
These export formalities are carried out by customs agents from the same warehouse, so the cargo does not move and the management is faster.
What are the advantages for the customer of using a LAME warehouse?
Being able to carry out customs clearance without the goods moving from the warehouse has several advantages:
- Reducing delivery times. By streamlining all the processes involved in exporting goods, delivery times are significantly reduced.
- Reduced costs. Costs are also reduced by simplifying handling and transport operations.
- Reduce incidents. Any incident is detected in the warehouse before the shipment is made, thus avoiding a possible stoppage of the goods at the port.
- Reduce intermediaries. The number of intermediaries through which the goods pass is reduced.
